ABOUT THE FILM:
Accompanied by friends and staff, Oprah traveled throughout South Africa for 21 days visiting orphanages and rural schools to deliver gifts of food, clothing, athletic shoes, school supplies, books and toys to 50,000 children, many of whom had never received a gift before. Inspired by her own experience growing up in poverty, Oprah set out to create a more meaningful Christmas for children in need.Oprah follows the personal stories of several of the children hardest hit by the AIDS crisis, including accompanying a child visiting her dying mother in the hospital. Oprah’s hero and mentor Nelson Mandela also joins her at a few of the ChristmasKindness parties.
